About the program...
Reading Rocks is designed to nurture blessed and successful children, by building a reading culture in children below 10 years.
We do this by making available books, tools and activities to make reading fun.
It also seeks to shift the mindset of children; from the state of being compelled to read, to the state of falling in love with reading.
Why the program?
Our Mission
Reading, though considered boring by many children in Ghana, is an essential lifetime skill which helps in brain development and serves as an important tool for social and emotional development.
Studies have found direct correlations between socio-emotional development, both in school and in life. Hence, using books to intentionally teach social and emotional learning is key.
To use this program to help children in lower primary school fall in love with reading by making available, age-appropriate books and activities to make reading fun.
Our Vision
Reading Rocks vision is derived from that of Aanyedoo, which is to nurture blessed and successful kids. This vision is to use reading as a tool for social and emotional learning while helping to change the reading culture in Ghana.
